According to ESPN’s Dianna Russini, the Patriots are still interested in trading for quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. Russini recently spoke about it on ESPN’s Get Up
“I’ve talked to a bunch of people in the league about this, and enough people I trust have told me that the Patriots’ interest in Jimmy Garoppolo has been consistent. This has got to be more San Francisco willing to make the deal and, of course, New England having the right amount of picks and money to get Jimmy to bring him back. And that’s really what it’s going to come down to.”Dianna Russini
It is no secret that as soon as the 49ers traded up into the third spot of the NFL Draft, that Garoppolo’s time in San Francisco was not for long.
Although it seems like a forgone conclusion that the 49ers will trade Jimmy to the Patriots, the 49ers still continue to stand by Jimmy as their quarterback by saying the right things.
Of course general manager John Lynch needs to say that if he is trying to get the best trade capital possible for his soon to be departing quarterback, either this year or next.
