The Seahawks have lost many good players in the last few years, and they haven’t been adequately replaced. Their defense that used to scare the hell out of everyone took only about two years to fall apart. And of course, they’ve never replaced Marshawn Lynch in their running game. Sort of like how the 49ers have been looking for a franchise QB ever since Jeff Garcia left, but that’s its own topic. The bottom line is that “rebuilding” isn’t a phase; it’s a constant process as people come and go, and the Seahawks are where they are now because they’ve flunked it.
